What has kept the Media alive since the GFC in 2008? Traditional advertising models are dead, as Google and FB have taken nearly 100% of all ad dollars. The Internet's nature puts a damper on anyone's willingness to pay for journalism. So how does the Corporate Media continue to exist? I believe that Obama kept them alive through government funds, indirectly distributed via NGOs, and done in exchange for total Democrat control of the narratives. Only a total audit of the NGOs will tell for sure, but if Trump is successful in cutting off the money from USAID and other sources, we may see mainstream media organizations dropping like flies within a year.

I started in the news business in 1969 at a small family owned daily in Vermont, the Caledonian Record. Thankfully that newspaper, still family owned, is still providing factual news to its readers. It and newspapers like it throughout rural America definitely could teach Big Media how to get the job done and also make a profit.
